Oral Sedation Dentistry
Oral sedation is a popular treatment option for many people because it does not require the use of additional needles. Medications can be swallowed whole and/or crushed and administered by your dentist sublingually (under the tongue). The Dentist usually prescribes one tablet the night before appointment and one tablet 1 hour before procedure. It is very important that the patient have a driver to the appointment and a driver home. It is not safe to drive while sedated.
Our experienced sedation team will monitor you throughout your entire visit. The medications are safe and have been used for decades. Our Doctors are Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified and our staff is CPR certified.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous Oxide Sedation is another alternative to help ease the anxiety of the patient during dental procedures. The advantage of Nitrous Oxide over Oral Sedation is the patient can safely drive to and from the appointment because the Nitrous Oxide can be flushed out of the body with 5 minutes of 100% Oxygen, reversing the sedation. Our Doctors are Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified and our staff is CPR certified.
